Bella's Needle Case or White Swan Needle Case
Annie is teaching twice but in each class the students will have the choice of which needle case they work. You can do both if you come to both classes.
"Bella's Needle-case"
This elegant, but practical needle-case was for me, a joy to work.
Not a huge project, but beautiful stitches and beautifully finished and assembled with Hemp Leaf Binding stitch.
Your first page is a printed needle-guide to take the mystery out of - "which needle do I choose"!!
The stem is a form of heavy chain stitch with a little extra detail and when using multiple strands of silk you achieve a wonderful ribbon-like effect.
The flower petals are needle-laced: - corded Brussels stitch, spiral trellis stitch and triple knotted buttonhole stitch.
Leaves are also worked in spiral trellis stitch but with a creative difference!
Extra detail: - couched gold-work and chipping.
Then of course the assembly of you needle-case and learning a little about book binding which is a particular love of mine and one, I think very useful for an embroider to include in her repertoire!!

"White Swan Needle Case"
I love all forms of dimensional embroidery, many stitches used to create wonderful dimension come form Brazilian embroidery, this piece is a little more contemporary, worked on hand-dyed water-wave taffeta (not dress-making taffeta!), stitches include: - double cast-on stitch, needle-lace, heavy braid stitch, bullions, bullion tipped blanket stitch and many more.
This beautiful needle-case is put together with a fabulous book binding stitch - "Hemp Leaf binding Stitch", the needle-case also includes a printed needle-guide as your first page to help the learning and choosing of correct needles for your future embroidery.
